The holidays...

Oh, the holiday season has begun. The hustle and bustle, visits with family, tons of food, and the cold weather! But wait (an audible gasp heard by all)! It's so flippin hot down here in Florida! Now I am not one for cold weather but come on already. How am I supposed to get in the holiday spirit. I tried going to the mall for inspiration. I thought the decorations and the crowds would do it for me, but all that did for me was piss me off (excuse the language). Alas, all I ask for is a little holiday spirit.

Today I am thankful for my family and friends, both human and furry. The good health of all. The food on the table and the many blessings that God has given me throughout the year (don't think they have gone unnoticed).

Happy Holidays!

The end of summer...

So this post will be chock full of pictures since it's been a while.Summer is my favorite season and I will miss it. I love everything about Florida in the summer.
So to say goodbye to summer we headed over to Palm Coast and stayed at a resort called Hammock Beach Resort We had a great Labor Day weekend with the family. Unfortunately Rich missed it because he had to work. But I loved spending time with my parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephews, and some very dear friends.

It's been 5 months, I know...

I've been lazy and uninspired. Sad but true. Roo started first grade and it's been exciting! We had a long summer and were definitely ready to get back into a normal routine. We had a great trip to Washington DC and of course went to see Hillary in North Carolina. Roo has started palying hockey and that takes up a lot of our time. He will start playing on the recreational team in September!!

We love Easter!!!

In celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior we had a wonderful family get together. We celebrated at the home of my husband's aunt in Floral City. She lives in this beautiful country home that sits on waterfront property at the end of an island. It feels like you're on a plantation on a bayou somewhere. Needless to say, we had wonderful food and a great Easter egg hunt. The kids all had a great time!

Birthday!!!

This guy turned 7 on April 7th. I can't believe how time has flown by... We did not have a big party this year. Instead we celebrated with pizza at school and with a very intimate family party at home.

Reads...

Obviously we are THRILLED that the Rooster is getting more and more independent with his reading daily!! He can read most Dr. Seuss books and tries very hard to read chapter books. I mentioned in an earlier post that I received the NOOK Color for Christmas. This has really helped me to organize my erratic reading habits. I tend to read 3 to 4 books at once. Can you say ADD? I would like to share with you what I am currently reading. Here goes.

Scar Tissue This is a great autobiography by the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his battle with substance abuse. Not too mention their rise to fame and how it all came together for this awesome band!

Odd Mom Out A great, light, read for those who have encountered the alpha moms and their drama.

The House of Mirth A classic I always wanted to read.

Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinny Girl and Free Yourself From A Lifetime of Dieting I like Bethenny! O.K.!? She's my favorite Housewife and I wanted to know what this book was all about.

Told you I'd be back soon...

Our cousins came to visit. We LOVE when Silas, Christine, and Kevin come to Florida. We miss them soooo much and wish they were here all the time! Si and Roo really love each other. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. We hope to visit them in California someday. Until then...
